Superstition Review published my poem, “Exotic Taste” in December 2016. A few months later, I was asked if I’d be willing to participate in SR’s Authors Talk podcast series featuring contributors to the journal speaking about some aspect of their work.
I was thrilled to be asked, although a bit nervous at first. It wasn’t clear to me what I might want to talk about, or what I might share about my work in general, or a specific work, that people might be interested in. After a few days consideration, I decided to discuss how “Exotic Taste” came about — the impetus for writing it came during an intense home remodeling project — as well as how the process of focusing different emotions and observations extant in a relatively short time period of writing came together. It turned out to be a meaningful exercise.
I hope you enjoy it! My Superstition Review Author’s Talk podcast is here.
